The brake drum number 91065400 works with a lot of the early Ford wheels including the wire wheels. Unfortunately not all the wheels were the same per the year they originated. The main flat surface the wheel bolts to is 7 15/16” and from there is angles inward 1 7/16” to where it is 10” diameter. From that point it goes straight out to 13 9/16”. The early wheels wrapped around the brake drums and you would need to compare these dimensions to the inside of your wheel to verify fit.

Brake drum part number 91065400 works with the aftermarket hubs featured in our catalogs and online and also many OEM applications. The depth of the drum may require minor machine work on some applications for clearance to the backing plates. Depth of the drum as sitting on the work bench to outer face is 3 7/8” for comparison to your original drums.

Is this drum for the hub that mounts from the inside?

Is this drum for the hub that mounts from the inside?

This drum is for use with the hubs using the slip over drums such as Speedway Number 91065450. It will not work as a replacement for the one piece hub and drum without also ordering the hubs mentioned and the bearing and seal kit. With the depth of the drum in some cases the inside edge may require minor machining for backing plate clearance.

This is for your 2" wide bendix brakes: what is the swept with of these drums (i.e. how much clearance will be left on either side of the shoes?)

These drums are machined to accept up to 2 inch shoes and also work with the 1 ¾” shoes. There is minimal machine surface available for any additional shoe width and the machine surface runs all the way inward with the inside edge being chamfered.
